The Staff Selection Commission  will conduct an open examination for recruitment of the posts of constable (GD) in SSF, NIA, SSB, ITBP, CISF, CRPF, BSF, Rifleman in Assam Rifles as per  the recruitment scheme formulated by the Ministry of Home Affairs and as per the memorandum of understanding signed between Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and the SSC. The recruitment process will consist of Physical Standards Test, Physical Efficiency Test, Written Examination and Medical Examination. Physical  Standards Test (PST)/ Physical  Endurance Test (PET) will be scheduled and conducted the CAPFs.

SSC CONSTABLE GENERAL DUTY  PHYSICAL EXAM PATTERN

Physical Standard Test (PST)

Physical Standards for the post of Constable General Duty are—–

A) Height

For Males: 170 cms

For Females: 157 cms

B) Chest

For males only – Unexpanded: 80 cms

Expanded: Minimum Expansion 5 cms

C) Weight

For Male and Females:  Proportionate to height and age as per medical standards.

Physical Efficiency Test:

Race:  For Male applicants Race of 5 kms in 24 minutes and for Female applicants RAce of 1.6 kms in 8 minutes 30 seconds.

For Ladakah Region:

For Male applicants Race of 1 mile in 6 minutes 30 seconds and for Female applicants Race of 800 meters in 4 minutes.

SSC Constable GD Written Exam Pattern:

The SSC will conduct written examination of applicants qualified of PST/PET in both line (computer based) and Offline (Paper Mode)  mode.  Online examination will be in English and Hindi only. Offline examination will be in Hindi and English and other regional languages. The applicants will have to opt for online or offline mode of examination in the application form. SSC CONSTABLE GENERAL DUTY SYLLABUS 2018 :

GENERAL INTELLIGENCE AND REASONING: 

Analytical aptitude and ability to observe and distinguish patterns will be tested through questions principally of non-verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, etc.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE AND GENERAL AWARENESS 

Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidates general awareness of the environment around him. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, scientific Research etc. These Questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.

 ELEMENTARY MATHEMATICS 

This paper will include questions on problems relating to Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, etc.

English – Hindi : Candidates’ ability to understand basic English/ Hindi, his basic comprehension would be tested.

ENGLISH : Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/Homonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/Detecting Mis-spelt words, Idioms & Phrases, One word substitution, Improvement of Sentences, Active/Passive Voice of Verbs, Conversion into Direct/Indirect narration, Shuffling of Sentence parts, Shuffling of Sentences in a passage, Cloze Passage, Comprehension Passage.
