In the year 2003-2004, Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education was introduced.  UBTE handles the administrative affairs governing vocational education in the state. Students who are interested in Technical Skills can enroll in this Industrial Training Institute. The policies pertaining to vocational education are controlled by the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) and State Council of Vocational Training (SCVT). The main objective of vocational training is to develop technical skills in the students. Upon completion of the programs, the institute gives NCVT or SCVT Trade Certificates. Based on these program certificates. students can roll for jobs at the National or State level.
