The Department of Technical Education, Karnataka is one of the best technical education in Karnataka state.  The Board imparting the best class diploma education.  Board was established in 1959.  There are 500  polytechnic institutes are affiliated with the DTE Karnataka. The Directorate of Technical Education is a single unit office with headquarters at Bangalore city.  Because of the increase in the number of technical institutions particularly in the latter half of the fifties, it was felt very necessary to form an independent DTE. The separate department was also necessary for the overall development of the Technical Education in Karnataka state. Thus the Directorate of Technical Education came into existence as a separate department in 1959.

In the year 2019 board has conducted diploma examinations and the students who had appeared for the exam can check the results from the official website. The Karnataka Department of Technical Education is going to announce diploma results in May 2020 very soon.  Students who had appeared for the exam can check the results from the direct link provided here.  After, the declaration of results, students who had not satisfied with the results can apply for the recounting/revaluation.
